Our Story
They technically met at a Christmas dinner shortly after Charles arrived in Scotland in 2019. Amanda never introduced herself, thinking that Charles already knew her. Charles would then spend the rest of the evening trying to find out who this girl was. It would not be for another three weeks that he finally found out his future wife's name. They worked together in Erskine while Charles lived in Scotland between 2020 and 2021, when Charles had to return to America. They would keep in touch for the following months until in April of 2021 they began a long distance, intercontinental relationship.
Charles proposed on 30 November 2023, St. Andrews Day, at the Gleniffer Braes Waterfall. He had a custom ring box made disguised as an ornament of Amanda's favorite movie the Little Mermaid. Amanda claims that in the moment she said, "Yes." Charles only heard a long series of shrieks and squeals and later had to have the awkward confirmation that she did actually want to get married. She did.
We are so looking forward to celebrating together as we begin to write this next chapter of our lives!
